Ajinomoto Foods Europe S.A.S. (AFE) is an affiliate of Ajinomoto Group located in France. Ajinomoto Group is well-known in the world as one of the biggest food companies in Japan, active in 100 countries and regions worldwide, employing around 25,000 people. Ajinomoto’s signature product, monosodium glutamate (MSG) seasoning, was first marketed in Japan in 1909. The company rapidly expanded to other countries, with Ajinomoto U.S.A., Inc. and Ajinomoto Europe having been established in 1950’s. Since then, Ajinomoto has become a conglomerate spreading to other areas, though mostly in the food industry. Ajinomoto is also a leading supplier of Transglutaminase (TG) preparations, Amino acids and Aspartame.

Ajinomoto is very active in European food market through the activities of AFE, a producer of ACTIVA TG preparations and MSG. Ajinomoto has not stopped developing innovative technologies which help standardize production or reduce cost for the food manufacturing world since introducing ACTIVA® TG to the European market in 1994 to 1995. By developing many new market-specific ACTIVA® preparations which are now being successfully utilized, Ajinomoto has proven their dedication - especially in the meat industry - to many of the biggest and best companies in Europe.
